therapeutic modalities + active rehab
ACTIVE REHAB
Active rehabilitation refers to an exercise program that specifically addresses injury and includes the following components:
A detailed assessment including a postural screen, tests for muscle imbalances, as well as a Functional Movement Screen, A corrective exercise program that will specifically address postural imbalances, core stability, and other muscle imbalances that are observed during your assessment
Proper strength training protocols that are progressively managed.
Our ultimate goal is to help our patients successfully return to their pre-injury lifestyle
ULTRASOUND & ELECTRO-THERAPIES
Combination therapy involves the simultaneous use of ultrasound and the application of an electrical stimulation therapy. Therapists often combine these treatment modalities to maximize the results of therapy sessions aimed at managing contractures (tightening of muscles), increasing range of motion, managing muscle pain, increasing strength and training muscles to increase continence.
INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE
Instruments effectively break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue. The introduction of controlled microtrauma to affected soft tissue structure causes the stimulation of a local inflammatory response. Microtrauma initiates reabsorption of inappropriate fibrosis or excessive scar tissue and facilitates a cascade of healing activities resulting in remodeling of affected soft tissue structures. Adhesions within the soft tissue which may have developed as a result of surgery, immobilization, repeated strain or other mechanisms, are broken down allowing full functional restoration to occur.
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE
ART® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
KINESIOLOGY TAPING
RockTape is the world’s best kinesiology tape. It can be used to treat sports and non-sports injuries, including shin splints, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee and back pain. RockTape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, creating a decompressive effect. Stretchier, stickier and stronger than the competition, RockTape is preferred by athletes and medical professionals throughout the world.
